Breath #2

A line drawing of a human head created with a network of black connecting lines on a cream background, divided into horizontal sections showing different angles.

The moment between breaths. This body rests between two spaces—held in a pause that never fully resolves. The form rises, but does not quite arrive. The top was first carved from wood, the lower shaped from clay, as if two different understandings of the body are meeting but not fully merging.

Both are cast in bronze, where their differences remain, gently held together. A soft patina settles across the surface, not to unify completely, but to quiet the transitions—to let the figure exist in that in-between state, where form loosens and something less tangible begins to take shape.

Two modern abstract sculptures of human figures on black bases, featuring geometric, elongated shapes, placed in front of an abstract painting with black and white patterns on a gold background.
Two abstract sculptures of human figures on white pedestals, with shadowy silhouettes cast on beige wall behind them.
A modern sculpture of a horse made of greenish aged metal with geometric shapes, standing on a black square base, against a plain white background.
