Beyond Silence

A single figure moves forward, yet a thin vertical divide splits the body, as if two versions are slipping past each other.

One belongs to the world of weight and surface. The other to something beyond it—barely held in place. The sculpture doesn’t fracture. It drifts, like a daydream you’re still inside of, even as you begin to wake.

For Johannes Nielsen, this is where sculpture becomes paradox. He works with bronze—dense, grounded, undeniable—yet uses it to reach toward what cannot be touched. The solid form is not an endpoint, but a doorway between worlds.
