Moose as Muse (🇬🇧)
Moose as Muse, bronze sculpture, 2025
If you’ve been following my journey for a while, you might have noticed that this past year has been a bit… slower. Fewer sculptures, more soul-searching. You could call it a transformation. A rebirth. A mini personal renaissance. Or just midlife with a touch of existential spice.
Maybe you’ve felt it too? That itch for change, the pull toward something new—even if you’re not quite sure what it is yet.
This sculpture came out of that space. In the first version of this sculpture, the boy was standing on the moose, pulling the reins, yelling his head off—totally convinced he was in control. (Sound familiar?) But as the piece evolved, something shifted. The boy closed his eyes. He let go of the tension in the rope. He stopped trying so hard.
And somehow, that felt more honest.
I’ll admit, I still have days when I’m like the first version—wanting to steer everything, shouting directions into the universe. But I’m learning that sometimes, it’s okay to let go. To trust. To close my eyes and ride the moose.
